Vampire Facial in Philadelphia, PA

Medical advances have taken cosmetic facial treatments to a new level using our own plasma to smooth the skin and diminish lines and wrinkles. At World Wellness Health Institute, Dr. Daniel Lebowitz, M.D., a board-certified physician, performs Vampire Facials on patients in Bala Cynwyd and Philadelphia, PA, and the surrounding communities, who want to look younger and have a healthier complexion.

What is a Vampire Facial?

A Vampire Facial is a cosmetic facial treatment that combines micro-needling and platelet rich plasma (PRP) to smooth the skin and add volume diminishing fine lines and wrinkles as well as folds. Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves using tiny micro-needles to make microscopic holes in the targeted area of the face. Then platelet rich plasma (PRP) is lightly spread over the area so that it sinks into the skin to increase collagen production and elasticity. Microneedling makes the skin more permeable so that the PRP is better absorbed and can begin the process of healing and rejuvenating the skin.

Benefits of a Vampire Facial

A vampire facial is designed to smooth and nourish the skin in order to look younger. This treatment benefits patients because it:

  • Has no downtime or recovery
  • Is performed in an office setting
  • An alternative to laser skin resurfacing for patients with sensitive skin
  • Boosts the absorption of PRP into the skin
  • Treats several conditions such as stretch marks and sun damage

How is a Vampire Facial Performed?

The first step of a Vampire Facial is for the clinician to retrieve a small amount of blood from the patient typically from the arm. Once that is complete, the PRP is separated from the other parts of the blood by spinning it in a centrifuge device. Immediately following, a microneedle device is placed on the targeted area to create tiny pinholes in the skin. The PRP is applied over the area and sinks into the skin through the holes. From there, it spreads throughout the deep layers of skin. At this point, collagen and elastin production increases as the tiny holes heal. This results in a healthy complexion that is smooth and glowing.

A Vampire Facial typically takes between 30 minutes and an hour. To ease any discomfort from the microneedling, a numbing cream is applied. Patients requiring more than one treatment are urged to wait about six weeks between treatments so that the skin can fully heal.

Vampire Facial Recovery

One of the benefits of a Vampire Facial is that there is little to no downtime or recovery. Because the holes from the microneedling are so tiny, they heal very quickly – within a few days. Makeup can be worn if necessary, but it is important to keep the area clean with frequent gentle face washes. Most patients begin to see visible changes within two to four weeks which last six months to a year.

How Much Does a Vampire Facial Cost?

The cost of a Vampire Facial varies with each patient depending on the condition of the skin, the extent of the skin to be treated and whether other treatments are performed at the same time. We can go over the costs with you during your consultation with Dr. Lebowitz as well as our payment options and financing.

Is a Vampire Facial Right for Me?

A Vampire Facial requires the patient to have no issues or conditions involving the blood. If you are healthy and not have any of these conditions, you may be a candidate for a Vampire Facial.

Vampire Facial Consultation
