Lip Injections in Philadelphia, PA

As we age, our lips begin to get thinner, making them look pressed and causing lipstick to bleed. Lip injections are a non-invasive cosmetic treatment to plump the lips and reveal a younger, softer looking appearance. Dr. Daniel Lebowitz performs lip injections on women living in Bala Cynwyd and Philadelphia, PA, as well as the surrounding areas, who want a more youthful appearance.

What are Lip Injections?

Lip injections are a cosmetic treatment designed to make the lips fuller and softer. The procedure is accomplished by injecting a natural or synthetic substance into the lips. When performed, the lips have more volume and fine lines around the lips are diminished.

Benefits of Lip Injections

Women wanting a softer look often choose lip injections because it diminishes the vertical lines around the mouth and adds volume to their lips. Additionally, it is an easy procedure that provides the following benefits:

  • Very little to no discomfort
  • Performed in a short time period
  • Easy to control the amount of volume
  • Return to daily routine immediately after appointment
  • Long lasting – up to a year
  • Low risk of allergic reaction when natural substances are used

How are Lip Injections Performed?

The procedure for lip injections is quick and easy. Dr. Lebowitz discusses what your specific goal is and determines the best injection sites. At that point, he may numb the lips with a topical cream then injects the filler into the lips. He may slightly massage the lips to ensure the filler spreads out, and the lips are smooth. The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes and results in fuller, softer lips that give a subtle change to the patient’s appearance.

Lip Injection Preparation

There is no lengthy preparation for lip injections. It is recommended that anyone taking blood thinning medications or supplements stop taking them a few days in advance of the procedure to prevent any unnecessary bleeding or bruising. Just before the actual treatment, Dr. Lebowitz determines where to inject the filler and prepares the lips for the treatment.

Lip Injection Recovery

As with many fillers, patients may return to their normal activities immediately following the treatment. We do recommend that lipstick be avoided for the first day and that patients refrain from strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours.

How Much Do Lip Injections Cost?

The cost for lip injections is different with each patient. It depends on the type of injectable used, your specific aesthetic goals and whether other treatments are performed at the same time. During a consultation, we are happy to go over the cost, as well as our payment and financing options. We offer CareCredit® for those who want to finance their treatments.

Are Lip Injections Right for Me?

If you look in the mirror and see thin, pursed-appearing lips that make you look angry, you may want to consider lip injections. They add volume to thin lips and reduce the vertical lines around the lips that become noticeable when lipstick bleeds.

Lip Injections Consultation

Prior to having lip injections or any other cosmetic treatment, we ask that you schedule a consultation with Dr. Lebowitz. He evaluates your skin and talks to you about the procedure and what you want from having lip injections so that he can accurately determine where to inject the filler. He is always cautious when talking to women wanting this procedure as it may slightly change someone’s appearance. Additionally, it is a semi-permanent treatment that must be maintained in order to keep the same look.
